On 1/16/2014, Lieutenant Casey Glasgow was dispatched to Sugar Loaf Valley Road to take a report of a breaking and entering that had occurred on 1/13/14. Because of prior incidents that had occurred in the area, the victim had placed game cameras on the property. Upon reviewing photos from the cameras, a white male, later identified as Matthew Kersey, 31, of Glenwood, was observed entering a storage building and removing hand tools. During the time frame that the photos were taken, it was revealed that the suspect had entered the storage building multiple times. A Green Mazda utility vehicle with body damage was also identified in the photos. The vehicle was located, at another address, on Sugar Loaf Valley Road. After photo comparison, Kersey confessed to committing the breaking and entering to the storage building, was taken into custody, and transported to the Hot Spring County Jail. Kersey has been charged with Breaking and Entering, a Class D Felony, Theft of Property, a Class B Felony, and Criminal Trespass, a Class B Misdemeanor. His bond amount has been has been set, by the judge, at $10,000.00 cash or professional bond.
