Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest of Sparks & Search for Baugh

On 1/21/14, Deputy Charles Greeno initiated a traffic stop on a tan Cadillac, on the Hwy 270 Bypass at Providence Loop for an expired license plate.  Before the vehicle came to a complete stop, the passenger, later identified as Detrick Baugh, fled into the wood line.  The driver, identified as Brittanie Sparks, was secured in the patrol vehicle, until other deputies arrived on scene.  When her phone began alerting continuously, Deputy Greeno was given consent by Sparks to view the messages she was receiving on her phone.  He located a text message from Baugh that read, “Get the shoe box with the money.”  Inside the vehicle, Deputy Greeno located a blue and white shoe box containing $880.90, digital scales, and a plastic bag containing 1.9 grams of crack cocaine.  K-9 units were called and after tracking for several hours were unable to locate Baugh.  Sparks was arrested and transported to the Hot Spring County Jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Hindering Apprehension.  Her bond amount was set, by the judge, at $10,000.00 cash or professional bond.    Detrick Baugh has charges pending for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Fleeing.  He is believed to possibly be in the Hot Springs area.  If you know the whereabouts of this subject please call the Hot Spring County Sheriff's Department at 501-332-3673.
